Kary & Josh's Mount Baker Adventure Elopement | Washington Elopement Videographer
Some wedding days are elegant, some are traditional, and some are unforgettable adventures. Kary and Josh's elopement at Mount Baker was the perfect blend of breathtaking scenery, meaningful moments, and the kind of experience that truly reflected who they are as a couple. From a sunrise hike along the Chain Lakes Loop to a private ceremony surrounded by family, dogs, and incredible mountain views, their day was everything an adventurous Washington elopement should be.
As a Washington elopement videographer, these are the kinds of wedding days I love documenting. Rather than spending the day moving between venues and timelines, Kary and Josh chose to celebrate their marriage immersed in the beauty of the North Cascades.
Their wedding day began long before most people were awake. On a crisp October morning, we met in the parking lot near the Chain Lakes Loop trailhead just before sunrise. The sky slowly began to brighten as we started hiking, and the first golden light of the day illuminated the rugged peaks surrounding Mount Baker.
Fall had fully arrived in the high country. Patches of vibrant red, orange, and yellow alpine foliage lined the trail, creating a stunning contrast against the rocky landscape and snow-dusted peaks in the distance. The weather could not have been more perfect. Clear blue skies stretched overhead, offering endless views throughout the hike.
After a couple of hours on the trail, we reached one of the most spectacular viewpoints of the entire day. With Mount Kulshan rising majestically behind them, Kary and Josh found a quiet spot to exchange private vows. Away from everyone else, they shared promises, laughter, and a few tears while surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery Washington has to offer.
As a Seattle elopement videographer, these intimate vow exchanges are often some of my favorite moments to capture. Without distractions or crowds, couples can focus entirely on one another and experience their wedding day in a deeply personal way.
Following their private vows, we continued exploring the area before making our way toward the Fire and Ice Trail for the ceremony. Waiting there were the couple's biggest supporters—their parents and their beloved dogs.
The ceremony itself was simple, heartfelt, and incredibly meaningful. Surrounded by mountain views and the people who mattered most, Kary and Josh exchanged rings and officially became husband and wife. Their dogs happily participated in the celebration, making the day feel even more personal and uniquely theirs.
One of the reasons adventure elopements have become so popular is that they allow couples to create a wedding day centered around experiences rather than expectations. Kary and Josh chose a location that was meaningful to them, invited only their closest family members, and spent the day doing something they genuinely love: exploring the outdoors together.
Their Mount Baker elopement was a perfect reminder that the most memorable wedding days are often the ones that stay true to who you are as a couple.
