Volunteer Park Elopement Session // Imani and Nick

Coming from out of town to get married can be really stressful, so it’s important to find a photographer that you know you can trust to know good locations and great spots for photos that will match your vision. Finding someone that has been to the spot you want to elope at is also really helpful.

Imani and Nick came all the way from California to get married in Seattle at the courthouse but they wanted to get some photos done somewhere a bit prettier beforehand and I was only too happy to help them!

We settled on Volunteer Park for their elopement session because they didn’t want to go too far out of the city and deal with traffic but still wanted somewhere that feels like it’s in nature. Volunteer Park is a gem of a park that is only five minutes away from Seattles downtown center but when you’re in it you feel like you could be in the middle of nowhere, well except for the construction currently happening there to build a new amphitheater.

We met up by the Volunteer Park conservatory which unfortunately we couldn’t go into because you now require a permit to shoot there. But we headed out into the park and wandered around for an hour talking and capturing their love. Nick is still living up in Seattle for another few months but they wanted to get married here before they head to live in California because it’s a special place to both of them.

After we finished they headed downtown to the courthouse to say their official I Do’s and then out for a fancy dinner to celebrate!

If you’re in Seattle and still looking for an elopement photographer, I would love to chat with you! Head over to my contact page and get in touch.
