A summer camp wedding in Washington with whales and Virgin Dads
Alex and Katelynn has the most beautiful, authentic Camp Gallagher wedding right on the water in Washington and even the whales thought it was worth showing up for!
Their day started with a first look on the dock which best pup Rainier quickly added himself to because he felt left out. After some scritches we headed over to the ceremony location to do some wedding party photos and a quick round of family photos before the ceremony.
The ceremony was started with a band of their friends serenading them instead of music from a speaker. Katelynn and her mom walked down the aisle with Rainier while one of their friends officiated. After the ceremony we headed over to the treehouse to sign the official docs and have a toast with the wedding party.
Whales make an appearance!
After rejoining cocktail hour, there was a sudden commotion and everyone rushed to the beach to see two whales swimming by! They breached multiple times and the baby even slapped their fin a bunch in a very playful manner which the guests from out of town LOVED.
Dinner was tacos served by a local food truck and it was delicious! From dinner they went right into toasts given by parents, the best man and the maid of honor. The best man and maid of honor really understood the assignment with the best man bringing out a scroll projecting 20 years worth of wedding gift ideas, and the maid of honor bringing up the whole camp gang to sing a personalized song set to Avril Lavigne’s Sk8r Boi!
A private band set?
And the music kept flowing immediately afterwards with their friends in a band called Virgin Dads taking to the stage to do a 10 song set! They had the whole place dancing and even started a mosh pit, definitely a first for a wedding!
Just before leaving I grabbed Alex & Katelynn down to the beach to do some final portraits and have a quite moment before they went back to finish the night with their EDM disco!
