Sunset Picnic Engagement Session at Discovery Park // John & Janine

Discovery Park is one of my favorite parks in Seattle so when Janine told me she wanted that sunkissed long grass feel for their engagement session I knew exactly where to go.

It’s been a while since I was out at Discovery Park for an engagement session (last time was in 2018 with Evan & Kelsey!) but the park hasn’t changed a bit. Which I wasn’t mad about because it meant all my old favorite spots were still exactly where I left them!

We started out at the old historic church by the South Parking Lot and from there headed out towards the cliffs, stopping along the way to have some bubbly on a picnic blanket. Just alcohol still counts as a picnic right?

We got to the cliff tops just as the sun was heading to the top of the Olympics and were treated to some beautiful moody sun bursts through clouds. You know I love a good sunflare! From there we headed back to the car park where we said our goodbyes as J & J headed out for dinner and I went to Salt & Straw for some ice cream since I was passing Ballard on my way home anyway so it’d be rude not to!

The J’s are getting married next month at Twin Willow Gardens one of my favorite venues and I can’t wait to capture their big day. If you haven’t locked in a photographer for your 2022 wedding yet, I would love to chat with you! Head over to my Contact page to check out the deets.
