Love letters to my wonderful clients and their amazing wedding days.

Loki takes over the dog park - Seattle Portrait Photography
Loki went to the dog park for the first time!

Michelle and Jesse: MARRIED!
I've known Michelle since 2011 and I don't think I've seen her as happy as she was today.

Laidback shoot with Lizz - Seattle Portrait Photographer
One of the things I said I would do more of when I set out on my quest to "be the person your dog thinks you are" is that I would do more shoots for myself.

4/5 - How long?
I picked up my first camera in the summer of 2007 with some birthday money. I shot as a hobby for years, landscapes was my jam. I steadily invested in gear until in 2014 I bought my first portrait lens and since then I've been hooked.

PhotoLush - Engagement session workshop
Last weekend I attended PhotoLush, a 2 day intensive photography networking, hands on conference extravaganza.

Just a strummin' and a smokin' - Seattle Portrait Photography
A few weeks ago my friend Nick was at dinner with a group of his friends. Somehow the talk turned to people telling Nick he needed to try out modelling. Nick thought maybe this might not be a bad idea. Our mutual friend Jesse sent him my way. We shot some pictures. Here are the results.

3/5 - What do you do?
I got my start in photography doing family photos, and I still enjoy doing them. But my main passion going into 2017 is weddings. I was terrified of them initially but after wetting my feet last year I am completely hooked! I also enjoy the odd head shot now and again.

It's not every day you turn 10/70 - Seattle Portrait Photography
A birthday party for a dog turning 10, what could be more fun?

Refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to go.
Okay, it's time for a real talk. There's not going to be any pretty pictures attached to this post, no details of a wonderful shoot I did recently, it's just me and my thoughts. Here we go...

2/5 - Where are you from?
Originally a resident of Glasgow, Scotland I spent a year living in Vancouver, B.C. before moving to Seattle. I've now lived here for just over two years. While growing up I always wanted to live in "the big country" that was America but it wasn't until I met my husband that it became a reality.

Tyler busts a move - Seattle Portrait Photography
A few weekends ago I met Tyler and his Mom down at Carkeek Park in North Seattle.

The First Look - Seattle Wedding Photography
One of my favorite parts of a wedding is the "first look". Whether it's a soon-to-be husband, a mother or father or the bridesmaids, it's always such a delight to see the look on peoples faces when they see the bride for the first time in her dress.

Headshots with a view - Seattle Portrait Photography
When Scott contacted me saying he needed some headshots for a work project, I was happy to help. We arranged to meet at his apartment and he suggested heading up the roof because it had a good view. He understated it a bit as his apartment roof looks out over Lake Union with a view of downtown Seattle to the left, it has to be one of the best views of Seattle I have ever seen!

Best of 2016: Personal
I had a great year professionally in 2016, in my personal life there were some really real highs and some terrible lows.

A lovely day for a walk around Downtown Seattle - Seattle Engagement Photography
I met Lauren and Ryan downtown on New Year's Day to shoot their engagement session. When I got there I discovered that it was actually freezing cold but they were both troopers who never once complained about the weather as I dragged them around various locations!

Best of 2016: Lifestyle
Although 2016 was the year I decided to get serious about weddings, I didn't let that get in the way of doing my usual portrait work.

Best of 2016: Weddings
I only decided I was going to start doing weddings proper at the beginning of 2016. If I'm being honest, they terrified me but I figured face my fears and all that and this year I had a blast shooting weddings.
