Woodsy Winter Wedding at Wallace Falls Lodge, Washington

Woodsy Winter Wedding at Wallace Falls Lodge, Washington

Jocely and Jason contacted me in December 2019 and we actually did an in person consult where they introduced me to the wonderful Boon Boona coffee in Renton. Fast forward a couple months and we all know what happened. While most couples were able to reschedule within a year, things were more complicated for the J’s because one of them is Canadian, with Canadian family they wanted at the wedding and the border remained closed. Once the border reopeened another “problem” came along but a happy one, they were pregnant!

Frank and Margaret's summer wedding turns up the heat // Seattle Wedding Photographer

This wasn’t your usual wedding. They forewent a lot of the “staples” of a traditional wedding. There wasn’t a wedding party, there wasn’t a DJ, there was no bouquet or garter tossed. There wasn’t even a traditional venue.

But what there was, was a whole lot of love.

Jeep Filled Brown Family Homestead Wedding // Jess and Caroline

Jeep Filled Brown Family Homestead Wedding // Jess and Caroline

When Jess and Caroline asked if they could incorporate their Jeeps into their engagement session because down the line they were going to be a part of their wedding day, I knew their wedding day was going to be great! Not only was the engagement session awesome but their wedding took place at one of my favorite venues in all of Washington: Brown Family Homestead!

Spring into a Twin Willow Gardens Wedding // Kaytlyn and Ben

Katylyn & Ben’s wedding was not only my first wedding of 2021, but also my first “big” wedding since COVID happened! They were the first wedding where a lot of people were vaccinated and mask restrictions have begun to be lifted. Remember those wonderful few weeks?

Mukilteo Backyard Wedding // Cherie & Howie

Mukilteo Backyard Wedding // Cherie & Howie

Backyard weddings really became a thing in 2020 thanks to COVID and it seemed like a lot of people were having them as a sort of compromise, a backup plan. But Cherie & Howie planned their wedding day to be small and intimate from the beginning so it being in their gorgeous backyard didn’t impact it much at all!

Intimate Chism Beach Wedding // Dug and Kerry

Intimate Chism Beach Wedding // Dug and Kerry

Dug & Kerry chose to host their wedding in a local Bellevue park so that all their friends could attend within the restrictions in place. They had custom masks made for all of their guests and individually boxed cupcakes available for guests to take home with them! They were so respectful of their guests while trying to keep a sense of normalcy for their big day.

JM Cellars Intimate Winter Elopement // Kennedy & Eby

JM Cellars Intimate Winter Elopement // Kennedy & Eby

Kennedy & Eby’s intimate elopement at JM Cellars ended up being my last wedding of the year in 2020 and it was so fitting in all the best ways. Due to Kennedy’s job they had to be very strict with the contact rules which meant everyone had to wear a mask anytime they were within 6 feet of the wedding couple. Obviously this meant we had to adapt to take some photos without masks but even the ones with people wearing masks you can feel their love for Kennedy and Eby coming through the fabric.
